But that’s not all, there’s a second contest…a pumpkin carving contest.

Your mission is to carve the most awesome Office/DMI-inspired pumpkin. It can be a face of one of the characters, the logo, or a quote. Whatever your heart desires, as long as it’s Office or DMI-related. You can do one for yourself or collectively as a branch. There will only be one prize, which is a Halloween gift bag, so whoever submits the picture will get the prize for the branch, but a special graphic will be made for the winning branch members. So if you’re working together, please designate one person to do the actual carving…and that one person will win the gift bag.

The pumpkin can be any size you want…small, large…doesn’t matter. It’s completely up to you. Decorate it with paints…or not. Just be creative.

Now, on to the important information from OLC:

Here is a rundown of what is going to happen during and following the launch of DMI 3.0 tomorrow:

1. Tomorrow at 12 PM PT/3 PM ET, we will be rebooting the DMI Forums. This means that everyone will be released from their branch forums and the Regional Manager Forum. As you know from last year and from our recent memos, everyone will be starting DMI 3.0 as a Temp and not in a branch. Branches and Regional Managers will not come into play for the first few weeks of DMI 3.0. IMPORTANT NOTE: While your branch and RM forums will be gone temporarily, they will remain intact and everything will be as you left it when you eventually return to them.

2. The boards will re-open before the new DMI 3.0 site is live. We encourage all employees to use your branch’s “Meet and Greet” thread to congregate with your former co-workers while your branches remain closed for these first few weeks. This will also give everyone an opportunity to visit other branches if you are considering switching your affiliation this year.

3. We will post a memo and send out a newsletter to all DMI employees as soon as the new site goes live. You will then be able to go back to your profile, see your desk (and all your saved items), check out the Latest NEws on the site, and see your first task assignment.

4. For all Regional Managers from DMI 2.0, over half of you will be retained in DMI 3.0, thanks to your stellar Performance Reviews. For branches whose managers are not retained, a vote will occur in the first week that the branches re-open to decide on the new managers. More details with be forthcoming. We realize that RMs are anxiously awaiting their results so they can get organized for DMI 3.0, however we want to emphasize that these first few weeks without branches have been set aside specifically so everyone can get re-acquainted with the new site and focus on having fun. Real team-building tasks will of course start up once we have solidified our new employee base, i.e. employees with a proven track record over the first few tasks of 3.0, who we know will be an asset to whatever branch they choose to join once they hit that Sb $2000 mark.

5. Summer Splash winners will be announced on the homepage and here on the Forum tomorrow. All employees who completed the Summer Splash tasks will be awarded a new, Limited Edition desk item not currently available in the Store. Expect that desk item to be delivered in the first week of DMI 3.0

Here’s the deal, our branch decided a couple months back to start doing volunteer work in our communities by giving blood, reading to a child, etc etc etc. One of the newest campaigns we have is the Macon Lemonade Stand. For a buck, you can purchase one of our three delicious virtual glasses of lemonade. Your donation will go towards the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. And to sweeten the pot. EVERY SINGLE DONATION will earn you an automatic entry for a French Door Fridge from Electrolux. Our branch goal is $100 and we’re hoping that you’ll either donate a $1 or spread the word and let others know about our lemonade stand.

Macon has put together another gift exchange and we’re inviting all branches to participate. This is going to be a fun little exchange in that you have to find a cute, quirky, kitschy or unusual item or knick-knack for $5 or less at a yard sale or flea market. Ideally, the item will be between $1-$3, but you can go up to $5. But the point is find something quirky and cheap, so keep it as low as possible.

The beauty of the exchange is that you aren’t limited to a holiday item or a specific theme…you just have to find something unusual. It can be a dashboard Hula girl, a weird ornament, a cat figurine, a state spoon, a city snowglobe…it’s completely up to you!

You’ll need to sign up at Elfster if you don’t have already have a profile. A name will be drawn for you and you will be contacted with that name.

We suggest, when you sign up, to put your branch name next to your name. For example, my profile says DizzyGirl (DMI Macon). To get the address of the person chosen for you, all you have to do is ask them anonymously what their mailing address is. You can do so through Elfster.
