Newbie’s Guide to DMI Macon

Greetings, new Maconites. My name is Gennie (aka: DizzyGirl) and I’m your Regional Manager. I understand there’s a lot to learn about DMI, so I figured I’d help you out by going over the most important. If you still have any questions after you read this, please let me know and I’ll help you out as much as i can. You can message me here or you can email me at: gennieb@gmail.com.

Wait a second, I haven’t joined your branch yet. How do I join?:

Thank you for your interest in joining DMI Macon. We’d love to have you as a member of our branch. Here’s what you need to do to get started:

  • Go to http://www.dundermifflininfinity.com and register.
  • Pick a branch: You’ll be given the option to pick a branch, make sure you pick Macon. Our links is here: http://www.dundermifflininfinity.com/groups/dmi-us-ga-macon
  • Once you’ve done that, leave a comment here on the blog and let us know. That way we can welcome you with style. We’ll also have a cold glass of sweet tea ready for you.
  • Make sure to go to the forums and introduce yourselves. We promise, we won’t bite…hard. We just nibble. :)
  • Send me the information for your branch badge and I’ll create it and email it to you.

That’s it! Easy cheesy.

What Everything Means:

SchruteBucks: Also known as “SB”, it’s the official currency of DMI. You can earn SB by doing simple things, like editing your profile and posting in the forums. You’ll earn $5 SB for each post and every time you edit your profile. You can also earn SB for completing tasks. The amount of SB for the tasks is determined by corporate. Earning SB is the most important thing you’ll ever do as a member of DMI Macon. Your SB totals goes towards the branch total and you can use your SB to purchase items for your desk or to gift other members.

Affinity Bucks: Also known as “Affinity SB” or “weekly SB”. Every week, from Thursday to Wednesday, you can earn $100 SB from posting on the forums or editing your profile. The maximum you can earn is $100 SB. Again, this is the most important thing you’ll ever do, both for yourself and for your branch. It takes a total of five minutes to earn Affinity SB. You can do so by going to your profile and editing/saving it over and over until you hit your $100 SB. We encourage posting on the forums, but if you don’t have the time, then the 5-minute Affinity SB Rackup is for you!

Tasks: Corporate gives us tasks to complete, both individually and as a branch. You’ll earn SB for each task that you complete. A branch winner is chosen from each submission, and the branch winners go up against the other branch winners for a final vote. If your branch wins a corporate task, the entire branch wins SB! It’s VERY important to at least try to do to do every task. It’s almost important, as a new hire, to go back and complete as many as you can. You can still earn SB for every task this season, even if the contest is over. And I understand that some tasks, such as the video and graphics ones, may be too advanced for some. If you submit something…anything…you’ll still earn SB. And if you just can’t do it, then please earn your Affinity SB that week to make up for it.

Employee of the Week: Also known as “EOTW”. Every week, I choose and reward a new branch member for their hard work. You’ll receive a certificate for your desk, and more importantly, be in the running for Employee of the Month! You may be chosen more than once for EOTW.

Employee of the Month: Also known as “EOTM”. All EOTW are put into a vote at the end of the month for EOTM. The winner will be decided on by branch members and the winner will be rewarded with a certificate for their branch. More importantly, they’ll be in the running for Employee of the Year! You may be chosen more than once for EOTM.

Employee of the Year: Also known as “EOTY”, this is the grand mama of all prizes. Every EOTM will go into a final vote at the end of the season. The winner will be decided on by branch members, and not only will the winner be declared “Employee of the Year”, but they’ll also receive the Macon Regional Manager Grand Prize, which contains over $100 worth of goodies! What Your Regional Manager Expects from You:

I’m a very laid-back, let people do what they want to do sort of person. I’m not a slave driver and I don’t expect for you to spend every waking moment on DMI. We all have lives away from DMI and I don’t expect you to take time away from school, work, and kids. What I expect though is…

- For you to earn your Affinity SB every week. Remember…most important thing ever!
- Have fun!
- Respect your fellow Maconites and DMI members from other branches. We want everyone to respect and like Macon, so please don’t be rude or start flame wars. And don’t even think about doing this in our branch forums. We treat each other with respect, even if we don’t agree with each other. We’re a friendly bunch of folks and we like for things to remain the same.

I would like to add that I do not like clones who join, earn $5 SB every couple of weeks, then hang around just to vote for their branch in tasks. This is really crappy and it says a lot about you that you would create a clone account to basically cheat. Therefore, I’ve made it my mission to report all possible clones to corporate. I don’t do it and I won’t put up with it. Consider this your one and only notice. If you’re a clone, you’ll be found out and you will be reported.

Branch Websites:

Yes, we have branch sites…and lots of them!  We have a Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, YouTube channel, our very own radio station, chat rooms, and galleries.  They not only serve as a way to give our branch more online presence, but to keep you guys updated on branch happenings and important DMI news. If you can’t log in to DMI, then I suggest signing up for our Twitter updates. These are tools to help you out!

A complete list of sites is located right here on the blog. Just click this link:: http://dmiga.wordpress.com/branch-sitesprofiles/.

The Good Stuff:

Hard-working Maconites are rewarding a few different ways. I’ve decided to give out real gifts to those who go above and beyond what’s expected of them. To earn a prize, you have to do one or all of the following:

- Win a branch/corporate task: Every task winner receives a gift from me, from branch magnets to gift certificates.
- Participation: If you’re consistent, week after week, with earning your Affinity bucks and doing tasks. I also look at people who are active on the forums, people I see promoting our branch and keeping the discussions going.
- Random prizes: Every once in a while – usually once a month- I’ll hold a random contest for a prize. This is why it’s so important to earn your SB every week…because people that do go in to the pot for the prize!

I think that’s it. Thanks again for choosing Macon! Now…get busy earning those SB!
